PUBLICATION DATE
Appear in monthly issues of the Journal. Publication in a specific issue cannot be guaranteed; however, authors are given the opportunity to review their articles prior to publication to update if necessary. Articles that have appeared in other periodicals are not usually selected for republication.
TOPICS FOR CONTENT
Articles that advance the education, competence, ethical practice or public responsibility of Oklahoma lawyers and which promote a sense of community within the bar. Current issues, recent changes in the law and trends in the legal profession are especially encouraged. Should be of interest to a large number of OBA members. Information should not duplicate other articles recently published in the Journal. Annual reviews of case law in one area are not encouraged.
LENGTH AND FORMAT
Submit one original on 8 1/2
by 11 inch paper not to exceed 15 pages including endnotes. Preferred
format is single spaced with a line of space between paragraphs.
Please use endnotes instead of footnotes and number pages. Endnotes
should not be excessive in number and length.
APPROVAL
The Board of Editors review and approve all scholarly articles for publication. Decision is based on quality of the article, its substantive value, its general interest to Oklahoma lawyers and the originality of its subject matter. Preference is given to OBA members. Letters are mailed to authors of articles not accepted.
Every author is required to complete the OBA publication agreement when
submitting an article. The agreement is available in a form-filled
PDF, which may be e-mailed, faxed to (405) 416-7089 or mailed to Carol
Manning, OBJ News & Layout Editor.
UPON ACCEPTANCE
E-mail your article and your biographical sketch of 75 words or less. Format can be any word processing program Mac or PC.
You also need to mail or e-mail a color or black and white photograph. If you submit an electronic photo, it needs to be at least 3 inches tall and have a resolution of no less than 200 dpi.
